ASK FIRST - Including children and young people in public decision making

This workshop is from 10.00 am - 4.00 pm and provides participants with the opportunity to develop the knowledge, understanding and skills to engage meaningfully with children and young people during policy development and service design.

Participants will explore a range of approaches to engaging effectively with children and young people.  These are underpinned by the ASK FIRST standards, developed by the Participation Network and endorsed by OFMDFM.

Participants will also have the opportunity to plan an engagement with children and young people in a learning environment.

This workshop is aimed at staff involved in policy making/designing services.

Lunch will be provided.

The Participation Network also offers tailored training for those who are considering undertaking a specific engagement.
