Models of Participation
Participation Network's training module refers to 3 models of participation based on the theorist's Hart (1992), Treseder (1997) and Shier (2001). Each model can be used to evaluate an individuals or organisations quality of engagement with children and young people.
Elements of Participation
The elements of participation outline the features of effective and meaningful participation.
Planning Tool
This tool has been designed by Participation Network to support public authorities begin to plan their engagement with children and / or young people. After identifying the need to engage with children and / or young people this tool will help you design the process.
Participation Proposal Form
This form should be completed by public authorities who would like to engage with children and / or young people. The proposal will be disseminated to organisations on our Directory and posted on Participation Network's website.
Record of Engagement
This template can be used by public authorities to record the views and opinions of children and / or young people when they meet them directly.
Evaluation of Engagement
This tool has been designed by Participation Network to encourage public authorities to reflect on their engagement with children and young people and review how the elements of participation were incorporated.
Case Study Template
Public authorities are encouraged to keep a record of their engagement process with children and young people.
